WHO IS NSAC?
NSAC is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization founded in 2015 that engages primarily in lobbying and advocacy work anywhere in the U.S. and at any level of government to advance an equitable, circular economy. NSAC is also able to candidates for public office, should such activities be needed to further its mission. The leaders that make up NSAC’s outstanding Board and staff have a proven record of passing cutting-edge policy and implementing programs to find practical and affordable solutions for problematic material streams. They are called upon regularly to provide testimony to legislatures and state agencies, as well as often being quoted in the press.
NSAC offers consulting services to state and local governments, corporations, and other organizations to identify solutions to materials management issues for products. These include tobacco and cannabis waste, carpet, packaging, pharmaceuticals, sharps, solar panels, mattresses, textiles, hazardous waste including paint, critical earth minerals such as batteries and solar panels, and much more.
Over the years, NSAC has emerged as the leading force in advancing a responsible, circular economy in the United States. Our intersectional approach to environmental issues has been instrumental in addressing environmental inequality and ensuring that our policies and initiatives are inclusive and fair. Our commitment to reducing waste and pollution, keeping materials in motion, and regenerating natural systems has driven achievement of the world’s first circular economy legislation for packaging. Looking ahead, we are more committed than ever to building a sustainable future for all.
THE BIRTH OF NSAC
NSAC was founded in 2015 and is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that will engage primarily in lobbying and advocacy work for EPR and Product Stewardship, anywhere in the U.S. and at any level of government interested in EPR legislation. NSAC will also be able to become involved in elections for public office, should such activities be needed to further its mission.
